CHINESE NEW YEAR COOKIES WORKSHOP


Date: Friday, 25 January 2008
Time: 7.30pm – 10pm

Nonya Kueh Bangkit (Using Mould) – Make these traditional authentic cookies with the moulds instead of the cookie cutter..These cookies do melt in the mouth too. (pls refer to pix attached)

Blossom Walnut Square – These special nonya cookies which resemble the western biscotti are just heavenly especially when they are packed with lots of walnut. (pls refer to pix attached)

Green Tea Spring Cookies – Absolutely marvelous when lots of fragrant almond is drown into this green tea dough. End result: the wonderful soft and melt in the mouth cookies; (pls refer to pix attached)

SPECIAL BONUS – Demonstration on Chinese New Year Golden Orange Cake. Recipe will be given

EMPEROR CHICKEN & OTHER AUSPICIOUS FESTIVE DISHES


Date: Saturday 19 January
Time: 2.30pm - 5.30pm


Fu Lo Shou Emperor Chicken – This auspicious dish symbolises Happiness (Fu), High Honors (Lo) and Longevity (Shou). This is a very healthy Chicken dish infused with a mixture of herbs. (Refer to picture attached). Participants will be taught how to prepare their own herbs. No pre-mix will be used.

Xu Li Kor Lok Yok (Sweet & Sour Pork) - This auspicious dish symbolises Smoothness towards the Future. This tantalizing aroma dish is so colourful and inviting. It is definitely a family favourite.

Hao Yu Tou Rice (Fragrant Yam Rice) - This auspicious dish symbolises good future. A very early Chinese settlers dish, it comprises of soft but yet crunchy rice fragrant by the touch of yam.

Jin Yin Mun Tang (Pumpkin Paste) - This auspicious dish symbolises fullness of gold and silver. A very delectable and not too sweet dessert to complete the sumptuous meal.
